The Only Parenting Failure

parenting-race“The only failure is in not trying.”

As long as you haven’t given up, you’re still in the game, continuing to try. No matter what the results of your attempts, you’re a success!

The fact that you are reading this means you are looking for answers and ideas and you are still playing to win! No matter what has happened in the past, you are heading in the right direction, even now.

This poem, by an unknown author, summarizes this concept perfectly:

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, if you must – but don’t you quit!

Life is interesting, with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a person turns about
When he might have won – had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with one more blow.

Often, the struggling have given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late, when the chips were down
How close he ‘d been to winning the crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit!
